About SMIPA CC

About SMIPA CC

SMIPA CC is a creator partnership platform built specifically for UK hospitality venues and local creators. We connect bars, restaurants, hotels, and event spaces with vetted local micro-creators for structured content partnerships — from brief to completed campaign, all managed in one place. SMIPA CC is part of SMIPA Digital Marketing, a registered UK digital marketing agency based in Liverpool.

For creators, SMIPA CC is completely free. There are no fees to sign up, build a profile, or apply to briefs. For venues, SMIPA CC is currently free during our founding partner period. We are onboarding our first venues at no cost in exchange for honest feedback that helps us improve the platform. Paid venue plans will be introduced in the future. Founding partners will receive preferential pricing when paid plans launch.

SMIPA CC is currently focused on Liverpool as our launch city. We are building a curated community of Liverpool venues and creators first before expanding to other UK cities. If you are a venue or creator outside Liverpool, you are welcome to sign up. As we expand to new cities we will notify you when opportunities in your area become available.

For venues

Getting started

SMIPA CC connects your venue with vetted local creators for structured content partnerships. Here is how it works: 1. Post a brief describing what you need — the type of content, what you are offering (gifted or paid), and when the visit should happen. 2. SMIPA CC matches your brief to relevant creators based on their location, niche, audience, and platforms. Only matched creators are notified. 3. Creators apply with a pitch. You review their profiles, stats, and pitch before deciding. 4. Confirm your chosen creator. You will be connected via in-platform messages to coordinate the visit. 5. The creator submits their content links once posted. You review and approve. The campaign is marked complete and both parties leave a rating.

A good brief gets you better applications from more relevant creators. Here is what makes the difference: Be specific about the content you want. "1 Instagram Reel and 3 Stories" is much clearer than "some posts". Creators need to know exactly what they are committing to. Describe the experience. What will the creator get to see, eat, drink, or experience? The more appealing the experience sounds, the better creators will apply. Be clear about compensation. If it is gifted, say exactly what is included. If it is paid, give the amount. Vague compensation puts creators off. Set realistic expectations. Gifted partnerships work best when the experience is genuinely valuable — a full dinner for two, an overnight stay, or a premium experience. Use the campaign goal field. Telling creators whether you want bookings, awareness, or UGC helps them tailor their pitch to what you actually need.

Matching

When you post a brief SMIPA CC automatically calculates a match score for every creator on the platform. Creators are matched based on: Location — creators based in your city score higher. If your brief requires a local audience, creators whose followers are primarily local score higher too. Niche — creators whose content niche matches your brief category score higher. A cocktail bar brief matches nightlife and food and drink creators. Platforms — creators who post on the platforms you need score higher. Engagement rate — creators with strong engagement relative to their follower count score higher than those with inflated or passive audiences. Completion rate — verified creators who have completed previous campaigns on SMIPA CC score higher. Only creators who score above the minimum threshold are notified about your brief. This keeps applications relevant and saves you time reviewing unsuitable candidates.

If your brief is not getting applications there are usually a few reasons: Your niche requirements may be too narrow. Try broadening the creator niches you are looking for. Your minimum follower count may be too high. Most effective local micro creators have between 2,000 and 30,000 followers. Setting the minimum above 50,000 significantly reduces the pool. Your compensation may not be compelling enough. Creators compare opportunities — make sure what you are offering feels fair for the content you are asking for. Your brief description may be unclear. Creators are more likely to apply when they can clearly picture what the partnership looks like. Add more detail to your description and content requirements. You can edit your brief at any time from your dashboard to improve it.

Applications

When reviewing applications look beyond follower count. Here is what actually matters: Audience location — a creator with 8,000 engaged Liverpool followers is worth more to a Liverpool venue than a creator with 50,000 followers spread across the UK. Engagement rate — a creator with 5% engagement on 10,000 followers reaches more real people than one with 0.8% engagement on 80,000 followers. Content style — click their Instagram or TikTok link from their profile. Does their content feel right for your brand? Would you be happy with this style of content representing your venue? Pitch quality — a creator who has written a thoughtful pitch that references your venue specifically is more likely to deliver quality work than one who has sent a generic message. Completion rate — the verified badge and completion stats show which creators have delivered on previous campaigns. Prioritise these.

Campaigns

Once you confirm a creator the campaign moves into the active stage. Here is what happens next: 1. You are connected via in-platform messages. Use this to coordinate the visit — agree on a date and time, share any specific instructions, and discuss the content brief in detail. 2. The creator visits your venue and creates their content. 3. The creator submits their content links through the platform once the posts are live. You will be notified. 4. You review the submitted content. If you are happy, approve it. If you would like changes, you can discuss this via messages. 5. Once you are satisfied, mark the campaign as complete and leave a rating for the creator. All of this happens inside SMIPA CC so you have a clear record of everything that was agreed and delivered.

In the UK all creators must clearly label content that has been paid for or gifted by a brand. This is a legal requirement enforced by the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) and the CMA (Competition and Markets Authority). The rules apply to both paid and gifted partnerships. Even if no money changes hands, if a creator received something of value in exchange for content it must be labelled. The correct label is "Ad" — this is what the ASA recommends. Labels like "gifted", "sp", or "collab" are not sufficient on their own. As a venue you share responsibility for ensuring content is properly disclosed. When briefing your creator, include a requirement that all content is labelled as Ad. SMIPA CC includes disclosure requirements in the campaign terms both parties agree to when confirming a partnership.

If a creator confirms a partnership but does not submit content within a reasonable time, here is what to do: First, message them through the platform. Sometimes creators need a gentle reminder — life gets busy. Give them a clear deadline in the message. If they still do not respond after a reasonable period, contact SMIPA CC through the Help Centre. We can send a formal reminder on your behalf. If the partnership cannot be completed, you can mark it as incomplete from your dashboard. This will affect the creator's completion rate on the platform, which is visible to all venues when reviewing applications. Incomplete campaigns are flagged in our admin system and repeated non-delivery can result in a creator's account being reviewed.

Account

Yes — you can edit any brief from your venue dashboard. Click the Edit button on the brief card. Note that editing a brief does not affect applications that have already been submitted. Creators who applied before the edit will not be automatically notified of changes. If you make significant changes to the brief — particularly to the compensation or content requirements — we recommend messaging any existing applicants to let them know. You can also close a brief to stop receiving new applications while keeping existing ones visible.

You can delete your account from Settings in your dashboard sidebar. Please note that deleting your account will permanently remove all your briefs, applications, partnership records, and campaign history. This cannot be undone. If you just want to take a break, you can simply stop posting briefs — there is no need to delete your account. If you have active partnerships in progress, please complete or close them before deleting your account to be fair to the creators involved.

For creators

Getting started

SMIPA CC connects you with UK hospitality venues for structured content partnerships. Here is how it works: 1. Complete your profile — add your niche tags, platforms, audience location, engagement rate, and a strong bio. The more complete your profile the better your matches. 2. Wait for approval — all creator profiles are reviewed by our team before going live. This usually takes less than 24 hours. 3. Browse matched briefs — once approved you will see briefs matched to your profile with a match score showing why each opportunity fits you. 4. Apply with a pitch — tell the venue why you are the right fit. Personalised pitches get confirmed far more often than generic ones. 5. Get confirmed — if the venue chooses you, a campaign workspace opens. Coordinate the visit via in-platform messages, create your content, and submit the links. 6. Build your record — every completed campaign adds to your completion rate and rating, making you more attractive to future venues.

Your match score determines how prominently you appear for each brief. Here is how to improve it: Complete your profile fully — niche tags, content formats, platforms, audience location, and bio all contribute to better matching. An incomplete profile gets lower scores. Add your audience location — venues want creators whose audience is local to them. Specifying your primary audience location (e.g. Liverpool) significantly improves your score for local briefs. Select accurate niche tags — choose the niches that genuinely reflect your content. Do not select every tag — specificity scores better than breadth. Improve your engagement rate — a higher genuine engagement rate scores more points than raw follower count. Focus on authentic audience building. Complete campaigns — every completed campaign adds to your completion score which is factored into every future match calculation.

Matching

If you are not seeing many matched briefs there are a few things to check: Your availability status — make sure it is set to Active or Looking. If it is set to Not Available you will not be matched to any briefs. Your profile completeness — incomplete profiles score lower in matching. Add niche tags, audience location, content formats, and a bio if you have not already. Your location — SMIPA CC currently focuses on Liverpool hospitality venues. If your city or audience location is not set to Liverpool you may score lower for available briefs. Brief volume — in the early stages of the platform there may simply be fewer briefs available. New briefs are posted regularly and you will be notified by email when a matched opportunity appears.

Applications

Your pitch is your chance to stand out. Venues receive multiple applications and the pitch is often what makes the difference. Reference the venue specifically — show that you have looked at their Instagram or visited their website. A generic pitch that could apply to any brief rarely gets confirmed. Explain your audience fit — why are your followers the right people for this venue? If you are a Liverpool lifestyle creator pitching to a Liverpool cocktail bar, say that explicitly. Mention relevant experience — have you worked with similar venues before? Link to your best relevant content example. Be specific about what you will create — do not just say you will make great content. Tell them exactly what you have in mind: a Reel showing the atmosphere on a Friday night, three Stories across a dinner visit, a TikTok of the cocktail making process. Keep it concise — a sharp three paragraph pitch beats a long rambling one every time.

After you apply the venue receives a notification and can view your full profile, stats, and pitch. Here is what can happen: Confirmed — the venue has chosen you. A campaign workspace opens in your Partnerships page. You will receive an email notification. Use the in-platform messages to coordinate the visit details. Declined — the venue has chosen another creator or decided not to proceed. You will receive an email notification. This does not affect your profile or match scores. No response — venues have up to their brief deadline to respond. If you have not heard back after a reasonable time, the brief may have been filled or the venue may not be moving forward. You can track all your applications and their current status in your My Applications page.

Campaigns

Once confirmed your partnership moves to the active stage. Here is what to do: 1. Check your Partnerships page — the campaign workspace is now open. You will see the brief details, agreed compensation, and a messages section. 2. Coordinate the visit — use the in-platform messages to agree on a date and time, ask any questions about the venue, and confirm exactly what content you will create. 3. Visit the venue and create your content. 4. Post your content — remember to label it as Ad as required by UK ASA rules. 5. Submit your content links — go to your Partnerships page and paste the links to your live posts. The venue will be notified to review them. 6. Wait for approval — the venue will approve your content or request changes. 7. Campaign complete — once the venue marks the campaign as complete you will be asked to leave a rating. Your completion record updates automatically.

Yes — this is a legal requirement in the UK under ASA and CMA guidelines. Both gifted and paid partnerships must be clearly labelled. The correct label is "Ad" — either as a text overlay on a Reel or TikTok, in the caption, or using Instagram's paid partnership label. Labels like "gifted", "sp", or "collab" are not sufficient on their own. This applies even if no money changed hands. If you received a free meal, stay, or experience in exchange for content, it must be labelled as an Ad. Failure to disclose can result in action from the ASA against both you and the venue. SMIPA CC includes disclosure requirements in the partnership terms both parties agree to when confirming.

Profile

Your completion rate is the percentage of confirmed partnerships that you have completed successfully. It is calculated as: Completed campaigns divided by total confirmed partnerships, shown as a percentage. It matters because venues can see your completion rate when reviewing your application. A creator with a 100% completion rate and 5 completed campaigns is significantly more attractive to venues than a creator with an unknown or low completion rate. It also contributes to your match score — creators with higher completion rates score more points in the matching algorithm, meaning you appear more prominently for future briefs. The only way to improve your completion rate is to complete campaigns. Once confirmed, always follow through.

The Verified Creator badge is awarded automatically when you complete your first campaign on SMIPA CC. To get it: 1. Apply to a brief and get confirmed by a venue 2. Complete the campaign — coordinate the visit, post your content, and submit the links 3. Wait for the venue to approve your content and mark the campaign as complete 4. The Verified badge appears on your profile automatically The badge is visible to all venues when they browse the creator directory or review applications. It signals that you are a reliable creator who has delivered on at least one real campaign.

Account

If a venue confirms your partnership but then becomes unresponsive or does not honour what was agreed, here is what to do: First, send a message through the platform with a clear and polite reminder of what was agreed and a proposed timeline. If you receive no response, contact SMIPA CC through the Help Centre. We take non-responsive venues seriously and will follow up on your behalf. If the partnership cannot proceed, do not mark it as complete. An incomplete partnership does not count against your completion rate if the venue is at fault — contact us and we will note this on the record. Venues that repeatedly fail to honour partnerships are reviewed by our admin team and can have their account suspended.
